one thing all witnesses have had in common is the belief that they would someday inherit everlasting life.
as more and more express the thought that they really don't have much hope for the future, has anything replaced the hope of eternal life in paradise earth?
or are we ultimately, hopeless?
I am living my life the way I want to. i have found love and happiness in abundance. I don't need anything to replace the 'live forever' hope because my day to day life is worth living.
I expect, when I die, to find out what lies beyond the veil. I am not afraid of what's back there, I'll take it as it comes.

i just did an interview for national public radio that they're doing in conjunction with the bbc.
i did it in my capacity as an instructor at the chaplain school.
the gal had an agenda full of hypotheticals.

Yeah, think about it, if your spouse was missing and maybe dead would you be lying about anything to the police? I sur as heck wouldn't! Even an affair! I'd take my lumps for it and pray it helped the police find my husband. (not that I've ever had an affair, mind you, but IF I had.)
I keep hoping she just might be alive... but I so seriously doubt it.

Me too, Mulan. I have been pretty sure her husband is responsible from the get go. Affair, fishing trip on CHRISTMAS EVE, convieniently 80 miles away, blood in his truck, etc.
The most likely person to murder a woman is her husband, ex-husband, boyfriend or ex-boyfriend. Sad, but true. I'm not saying all men are murderers or anything like that, it is just a statistic.
My heart is breaking for poor Laci. She would have begged to be allowed to live to save her baby... I gave birth 8 months ago and being pregnant is such s vulnerable feeling. Poor Darling Girl. Her family is so sad nd anxious and still praying for a miracle...

well valentine's day is almost here...but the most romantic thing my husband ever did for me came a few days earlier - on my birthday.. this is the very first birthday i am openly celebrating since leaving so he took me to my favorite restaurant sat.

as we were walking in, i said, "someday i would love a big birthday party with all my family" (sans jw parents of course).

steak & B.J. (yup, it IS what you think) Was proposed as a "valentine's day for men" by someone on this forum. We all agreed that it was a great idea and it was quickly ratified. So, March 20th get ready for the most self-explanatory holiday of all! I celebrate as often as me and Vampyre get the chance.(we have 3 kids)
Introspection, I like to buy lovey-dovey cards for my sweet vampyre on a regular basis. I have bought him flowers, candy etc. I've written numerous poems for him and silly stuff along those lines. I usually try to do things that HE would appreciate more, like buy him gaming books, dice, miniatures, video games etc.

There was the time Sweet Vampyre wrote me a lovely poem about my "sapphire eyes and goddess skin..." There was the time he cleaned the whole house and made a candle lit dinner, rented a romantic movie, got me flowers etc to remind me that I was a woman as well as a mother.... There was the time he proposed to me on bended knee and everything during my birthday party with all our family and friends attending. Not to be forgotten of course was our recent wedding where he declared me "his" in front of god and everyone, ....
I'm sorry folks, I get cards, flowers and chocolates, sweet words whispered and sweet deeds done for me on a regular basis... It's hard to pick one time from the bunch!

ok, bro-in-law came and picked me up at 9:15 am, drove 45 mins to anderson to what used to be the ss office which is now a medical clinic and had to call the ss office to find their new location and found it next to the national guard armory.
went in, took a number which was 84, the person being served was 81. surprisenly not alot of people in today (maybe it's the weather, it's cold out there today) waiting in line.
being in a ss office like i used to remember when i first applied for ssi at the age of 14 while in center on deafness school was like waiting for a new dl and plates in a bmv office.
SSI is social security income, I believe.
Hey Yizuman, You might be suprised that it could happen a lot quicker. When I had to go on welfare a few years back they said 3-4 months and it took a month. In the meantime I was able to get emergency food from several sourses... one was the survival center which may be a local thing, one was through the complex I lived in, one was WIC which doesn't help you much... I was amazed at the resourses I could access as a very broke person... ask everyone, like your social worker or folks you know who are on low incomes... "Where can I get some food while I wait for SSI to come through?" Hopefully there will be some local services to get you through.
